Privacy policy
Nebba is a voice app made by Liam Drake. You talk out loud to one of five therapists with a personality, original characters, and they answer. Role-play mode is a separate, opt-in set of scripted comedy scenes that runs through the same pipeline under the same policy. The app calls it "our AI voice provider"; this page is where that provider is named. It is Fish Audio.
What we collect
Your voice and the transcript, during a session. When a session is running, your voice is sent to Fish Audio, our voice-AI provider, which turns it into text, writes the character's reply and speaks it back. Fish Audio therefore receives your audio and keeps a transcript of the conversation. It does not receive your name, because we never have it.
An anonymous identifier. The first time you open Nebba it creates a random identifier and stores it in your phone's Keychain. It is not tied to your name, email or Apple ID. We use it to count your free session, to look up your subscription, and to label your sessions with Fish Audio. "Reset app data" in Settings throws it away and makes a new one.
Your subscription state. Whether you have Nebba Pro, and until when. Apple takes the payment; RevenueCat tells us the result. We never see your card or your Apple ID.
Scenes you write. A custom role-play scene lives on your phone. When you start it, its text travels with that call: to our server to set the call up (not stored) and to Fish Audio as the character's instructions for that session. Nobody else can see it.
A record of each session. Our own server keeps one line per session: the anonymous identifier, which character or scene, when it started and ended, and how long it ran. No audio, no transcript. It exists to enforce the free allowance and the Pro limits.
What we do not collect
- No account, no login, no name, no email, no phone number, unless you write to us.
- No recordings. Audio recording is switched off on every session; Fish Audio keeps the transcript, not the sound.
- No training on your data. Nothing you say is used to train any model, by us or, under our agreement with them, by Fish Audio.
- No advertising, no analytics SDK, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling or sharing data for marketing.
- No microphone access outside a session.
Who else touches your data
- Fish Audio (fish.audio) runs the conversation and stores transcripts under its own policy. We ask for the shortest retention it offers.
- LiveKit carries the live audio between your phone and Fish Audio; it is Fish Audio's transport and stores nothing for us.
- RevenueCat (www.revenuecat.com/privacy) keeps subscription state under the anonymous identifier.
- Apple handles payment under its own terms.
How long we keep things
Session records on our server: up to 12 months, then deleted. The anonymous identifier lives on your phone until you reset it or delete the app. Transcripts at Fish Audio: for as long as its retention period runs, which we keep as short as it allows; write to us and we will ask for a specific conversation to be removed.
Your rights
Email hello@nebba.ai and we will tell you what we hold against your identifier, delete it, or pass a deletion request to Fish Audio. Because there is no account, tell us roughly when the session took place so it can be found. Resetting app data or deleting the app cuts the link between you and any future sessions on its own.
Adults only
Nebba is for people aged 18 or older. It is not for children, and we do not knowingly hold data about anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used it, email hello@nebba.ai and we will delete what we can find.

Nebba is not medical advice and not a substitute for professional care. The characters are not licensed therapists, doctors or a crisis service. If you are in crisis, contact a local emergency service or crisis line.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the app will ask you to read it again before the next session. The date at the top is the version you are reading.
